Abstract
Process for the fatting and hydrophobizing of tanned leather and pelts, wherein the tanned leather or pelt is fatted with an aqueous dispersion containing a natural optionally chemically modified leather fatting agent and a surface-active phosphoric acid partial ester and optionally a nonionic and/or an anionic carboxy group and/or sulfo group containing surfactant and subsequently treating the fatted leather or pelt in aqueous medium with a plyvalent metal cation; the treated substrates and the dispersions suitable for carrying out the process.
