Abstract
The present invention relates to a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl; R.sup.2 is methyl which is substituted by a carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cyano, halogen, aryl or heterocyclic group of C.sub.2-15 chain hydrocarbon residue having no lower alkyl at the .alpha.-position which may be substituted by a carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cyano, halogen, aryl or heterocyclic group; R.sup.3 is a lower alkyl; R.sup.4 is hydrogen or acyl; and R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 each is a lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 combinedly are butadienylene or a salt thereof. The compound (I) of the present invention has a strong 5- and 12-lipoxygenase inhibiting action, is of high safety and is useful as, among others, an agent for ameliorating dysfunction circulatory system, an anti-allergic agent and a pharmaceutical agent for central nervous system.
