Abstract
A recording apparatus includes a receiving unit for receiving an image signal sent from an external apparatus, and a recording unit for performing a recording operation in accordance with the image signal received by the receiving unit. The receiving unit includes a clock signal generating unit for generating a clock signal used when receiving the image signal; and includes a first reception mode where the image signal is received without using the clock signal and a second reception mode where the image signal is received by using the clock signal. The receiving unit may include a first reception mode where the image signal is received by using a clock signal sent from the external apparatus and a second reception mode where the image signal is received without using the clock signal.
