Abstract
An intraocular hydrogel lens with shape memory swelling in water or in isotonic solution, as is physiologic saline, which is deformed before implantation into a shape suitable for operative insertion, for example, into the shape of a rod, is made, at least in part, from a crosslinked synthetic hydrogel containing acid and/or basic groups.
