Abstract
A dielectric ceramic composition exhibiting a high dielectric constant, capable of sintering in a short time, at a sintering temperature of 800.degree. to 1000.degree. C., in the atmosphere, a neutral atmosphere or a reducing atmosphere. The dielectric ceramic composition comprises a main ceramic component represented by the formula PbTi.sub.x (Mg.sub.1/3 Nb.sub.2/3).sub.y (Ni.sub.1/2 W.sub.1/2).sub.z O.sub.3, wherein x+y+z=1, and subsidiary components of PbO is added in an amount of 1.0 to 25.0 mol % and NiO or WO.sub.3 in an amount of 1.0 to 15.0 mol %. The subsidiary components are added to the calcined powder of the main component. Also provided is a dielectric ceramic composition comprising a main ceramic component represented by the formula PbZr.sub.x (Ni.sub.1/3 Nb.sub.2/3).sub.y (Ni.sub.1/2 W.sub.1/2).sub.z O.sub.3, wherein x+y+z=1, and subsidiary components of PbO in an amount of 1.0 to 25.0 mol % and NiO in an amount of 1.0 to 15.0 mol %. The subsidiary components are added to the calcined powder of the main component. The dielectric ceramic compositions are useful in preparing laminate ceramic capacitors and thick film capacitors.
