Abstract
Disclosed is a surface treated steel plate for cans prepared by drawing and ironing (DI process). In order to enable the manufactured can to maintain a good weatherability and a high corrosion resistance, an Al-Sn alloy film having a thickness of 0.05 to 5.0 .mu.m is formed on at least that surface of a steel plate which faces the outside when the steel plate is drawn to have a cup shape.
