Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 denotes haloalkyl, haloalkenyl or haloalkynyl, (R.sup.2).sub.n denotes H or up to 3 halogens, A denotes N or N.fwdarw.0, R.sup.3 denotes H or alkyl, and Z denotes, inter alia, a carboxyl group or a functional derivative thereof, are valuable herbicides and growth regulators.
