Abstract

The continuous casting installation includes: PA0 a) a funnel-shaped oscillating mold having cooled walls to produce a steel strip having a thickness of 40 to 50 mm; and PA0 b) a deforming device disposed at a distance of at most 0.5 m from the mold outlet to squeeze the steel strip to a thickness of not more than 25 mm.
