Abstract
A process for the preparation of bromo-substituted aromatic esters of .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated acids of the formula ##STR1## wherein n is 1 or 2, PA0 x=6'n, and PA0 R and R' are hydrogen or alkyl; comprises reacting a salt of .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated acid and an alkali with a bromo-substituted benzyl halide in an inert substantially water-immiscible solvent and in the presence of a phase-transfer catalyst.
