Abstract

Hydroxyalkane carboxylic acid derivatives of general formula I ##STR1## in which n means the numbers 7 to 18, PA1 R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group with a maximum of 16 carbon atoms, and PA1 optionally an alkylene group with 4 to 8 carbon atoms interrupted by an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom, are useful for the production of pharmaceutical agents for local treatment of diseases of the skin and mucous membranes.
