Abstract

An oxirane of the formula ##STR1## in which Ar represents phenyl optionally substituted with from one to three halogen atoms, PA0 R represents alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, PA0 X.sup.1 represents halogen, PA0 X.sup.2 represents hydrogen or halogen, PA0 X.sup.3 represents hydrogen or halogen, PA0 X.sup.4 represents hydrogen or halogen and PA0 n represents 0 to 1, useful as intermediates for the synthesis of fungicidal hydroxyalkinyl-azoles.
