Abstract

Useful thermal transfer dyes are thiazole dyes having the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each, independently of the other, hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or cyclohexyl or together with the linking nitrogen atom a heterocyclic radical, PA0 R.sup.3 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, benzyl, cyclohexyl, hydroxyl, furyl or thienyl, and PA0 A is a cyclohexadienone radical which may be substituted and/or benzofused.
