Abstract
A polysilane copolymer of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each are an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or an aryl group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, X is an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an arylene group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms or a silanylene group having 1 to 6 silicon atoms, n is an integer of at least 1, and m is an integer of at least 1. The copolymer is synthesized by the hydrosilylation polymerization of a dihydrosilane compound H--(SiR.sup.1 R.sup.2).sub.n --H with a diacetylenyl compound HC.tbd.C--X--C.tbd.CH.
