Abstract
The present invention relates to a curable composition comprising: PA1 (A) at least one aminoplast resin; and PA1 (B) an amount effective to cure the composition of at least one catalyst selected from the group consisting of PA1 (B-1) an acid, or an anhydride, ester, ammonium salt or metal salt of the acid that is represented by one of the formulae ##STR1## (B-2) an acid, or an ester, a metal salt or ammonium salt of a sulfo compound represented by the formula: ##STR2## (B-3) an acid, or an ammonium or metal salts of a reaction product prepared by the reaction of at least one amine and sulfo compound of (B-2); and mixtures thereof; where in Formulae I and II PA1 each R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is independently a hydrocarbyl, hydrocarbyloxy or hydrocaryltho group; where in Formulae I, II and III PA1 X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are each independently sulfur or oxygen; PA1 R.sub.3 is a divalent hydrocaryl group, PA1 each R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 is independently a hydrogen or hydrocarbyl group; PA1 a is 0 or 1; PA1 b is 0 or 1; PA1 c is 1 or 2; PA1 Y is a divalent or trivalent hydrocarbyl group or --C(X.sub.3)NR.sub.5 Y'; PA1 X.sub.3 is sulfur or oxygen; PA1 Y' is a divalent, trivalent or tetravalent hyd…
