Abstract

Substituted 3-thio-2-propynenitriles are prepared which correspond to the formula: EQU R--S--C.tbd.C--C.tbd.N wherein R is an alkyl, cyclic alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclo group. These compounds have been found to exhibit a high degree of antimicrobial activity in industrial and commercial applications and compositions containing these compounds are so employed.
