Abstract
A process for the preparation of a sulphonylisourea of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is an optionally substituted radical selected from the group consisting of alkyl, aralkyl, aryl and heteroaryl, PA0 R.sup.2 is alkyl or aralkyl, PA0 R.sup.3 is hydrogen, halogen or in each case optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy, PA0 R.sup.4 is hydrogen, halogen or in each case optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy and PA0 Z is nitrogen or a CH grouping, which comprises reacting an isourea of the formula ##STR2## with a sulphonyl halide of the formula EQU R.sup.1 --SO.sub.2 --X (III) in which PA0 X is halogen, in the presence of an acid acceptor at a temperature between about -20.degree. C. and +50.degree. C. Some of the compounds II are new.
