Abstract
A zinc oxide-hydroxide complex produced by heating freshly prepared zinc hydroxide at a temperature from about 150.degree. C. to about 450.degree. C. is useful as an adsorbent for malodorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans and the like. The complex alone or its combination with aluminum dihydrogen tripolyphosphate may be incorporated into a synthetic thermoplastic resin for fabricating shaped plastic articles for deodorant uses.
