Abstract

A protective coating for metal components formed of nickel or cobalt-based superalloys essentially consists of the following constituents (in percentages by weight): PA1 1 to 20% rhenium, PA1 22 to 50% chromium, PA1 0 to 15% aluminum, the share of chromium and aluminum taken together being at least 25% and at most 53%, PA1 0.3 to 2% in total of at least one reactive element from the group consisting of the rare earths, and PA1 0 to 3% silicon, PA1 impurities, as well as the following elective components: PA1 0 to 5% hafnium, PA1 0 to 12% tungsten, PA1 0 to 10% manganese, PA1 0 to 15% tantalum, PA1 0 to 5% titanium, PA1 0 to 4% niobium, and PA1 0 to 2% zirconium, PA1 the total share of the elective components being from 0 to a maximum of 15%, and a remainder primarily being at least one of the elements iron, nickel, and cobalt.
