Abstract

Diarylimidazoles of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a radical of the general formula: ##STR2## in which R.sup.3 and R.sup.6 are hydrogen atoms, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, which can be the same or different, are lower alkyl radicals or R.sup.3 /R.sup.4 and/or R.sup.5 /R.sup.6 in each case together represent a lower alkylene radical and R.sup.2 is a lower alkyl radical, and/or of a salt thereof, are used as redox indicators in the colorimetric diarylimidazoles are not influenced by the presence of a SH group-containing substance. The peroxidate-acting substance can be used to determine the presence of creatine kinase.
