Abstract

The present invention provides N-substituted aryl-N'-heterocyclic substituted ureas and thioureas of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, alkyl, alkoxy, substituted or unsubstituted benzoyl, substituted or unsubstituted phenyl, amino, substituted amino, or a monocyclic heterocyclic, or a carboxy group; and Het is a substituted monocyclic heterocyclic group containing two hetero atoms selected from nitrogen, oxygen or sulfur; which are useful in treating hypercholesterolemia and atherosclerosis.
