Abstract

The present invention is directed to a novel dimethicone copolyol halo ester intermediate which conforms to the following structure; ##STR1## wherein R" is --C(O)--CH.sub.2 --Cl; PA1 a is an integer from 0 to 200; PA1 b is an integer from 0 to 200; PA1 c is an integer from 1 to 200; PA1 R.sup.1 is selected from --(CH.sub.2).sub.n CH.sub.3 or phenyl; PA1 n is an integer from 0 to 10; PA1 R.sup.2 is --(CH.sub.2).sub.3 --(OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2)x--(OCH.sub.2 CH(CH.sub.3))y--(OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2)z--OH; PA1 x, y and z are integers and are independently selected from 0 to 20, which is useful as an intermediate for reaction with amines to prepare silicone based quaternary compounds.
