Abstract

A hand-held, manually-actuated dispenser for selective discharge of a stored fluid includes a discharge outlet defined in an elongated housing and a reciprocatable elongated member normally maintained in a first position closing the discharge opening for preventing a release of contained fluid. Also defined in the housing is a first chamber for containing fluid for discharge from the discharge opening, a second chamber or reservoir for storing a supply of the contained fluid, and a passage between the first and second chambers for enabling contained fluid flow therebetween. The elongated member is movable in a first direction from the first to a second position in which the discharge opening is opened for enabling a release of contained fluid from the first chamber and in a second direction from the second to the first position to refill the first chamber from the second and thereby complete a two-stroke fluid-discharging operation of the dispenser. A valve member movably associated with the reciprocatable member closes and opens the passage as the member respectively moves in the first and second directions.
