Abstract

A lubricant for a substrate, particularly a synthetic material, comprising a hydrogen polyorganosiloxane having the structure ##STR1## in which R is an alkyl radical containing up to 14 C atoms or a halogen- or pseudohalogen-substituted low molecular weight alkyl radical or a phenyl radical, with the proviso that at least 50% of all the R radicals consist of methyl groups; R.sub.1 is a methyl radical; n is a number from 0 to 15; x is a number from 100 to 1000 and y is a number from 2 to 10. The lubricant is particularly useful in a method to lubricate artificial turf such as the type used on football, soccer and baseball fields.
