Abstract

In thermoplastic elastomers selected from the group consisting of the thermoplastic polyurethanes, of the polyetheresters and of the polyetheramides which are derived from polyetherpolycarbonatediols as diol components, the polyetherpolycarbonatediols used are reaction products of phosgene, dialkyl carbonates having C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl groups or cyclic carbonates having C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 -alkylene bridges or mixtures thereof with mixtures of PA0 a.sub.1) from 10 to 100 mol % of polyoxytetramethylenediol having a number average molecular weight M.sub.n of from 150 to 500 and PA0 a.sub.2) from 0 to 90 mol % of polyoxyalkylenediols which differ from a.sub.1) and have C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 -alkylene groups, aliphatic alkanediols of 2 to 14 carbon atoms, alicyclic alkanediols of 3 to 14 carbon atoms or alkylene oxides of 2 or 3 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof.
