Abstract

The present invention relates to a reaction product of a tetraalkoxysilane or a silicate oligomer obtained by its partial hydrolysis-dehydration-polycondensation, with an amino alcohol having one or two hydroxyl groups, and a dehydrating agent comprising such a reaction product. The dehydrating agent of the present invention is suitable for dehydrating a moisture at a level of a few hundreds ppm. Further, since an amino alcohol is formed by the dehydration, it is particularly useful as a dehydrating agent for a raw material for the production of a urethane resin or an epoxy resin.
