Abstract

A method for catalyzing the trimerization of an isocyanate and/or the reaction between an isocyanate and an active hydrogen-containing compound, the improvement which comprises employing a catalyst composition consisting essentially of the addition product of a tertiary amine urethane catalyst and a boron compound of the formula EQU R.sub.n BX.sub.3-n where PA1 n represents 0, 1, 2 or 3, PA1 X represents F, Cl, Br, OCOR', OR" or mixtures thereof, and PA1 R, R' and R" independently represent C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.8 PA1 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 aryl or mixtures thereof.
