Abstract

This invention relates tot he use of ion exchange resins having metal-exchanged thiol functional groups in removing iodide impurities from carboxylic acids and/or carboxylic acid anhydrides. More particularly, this invention provides a process for removing iodide impurities from liquid carboxylic acids and/or carboxylic acid anhydrides using ion exchange resins in which thiol functional groups have been exchanged with silver, palladium or mercury.
