Abstract
The invention relates to surface-modified platelet-like pigments based on platelet-like substrates which are coated with a titanium dioxide layer and a thin alkaline earth metal titanate film on top of it, in which the pigment, in order to increase the photostability and to decrease the surface reactivity towards organic compounds, is ignited at temperatures of at least 800.degree.
