Abstract
A forceps comprising first and second elongated elements having proximal and distal end portions. The proximal end portions are joined together so that the distal end portions are movable toward and away from each other. The distal end portion of the first elongated element includes a platform having a substantially flat surface sized and adapted to carry a foldable intraocular lens in an unfolded state. The distal end portion of the second elongated element includes an elongated rod which is narrower than the substantially flat surface of the platform.
