Abstract
A fiber treating composition based on an organopolysiloxane of the average compositional formula: EQU R.sub.x.sup.1 R.sub.y.sup.2 SiO.sub.(4-x-y)/2 (1) wherein R.sup.1 is an organic group having a nitrogen atom, R.sup.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or a group represented by --OR.sup.3 wherein R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and letters x and y are 0<x<3, 0<y<3, and 1.8.ltoreq.x+y.ltoreq.2.2, at least 10 mol % of the R.sup.1 group being a group represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.4 is a divalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms meets all the requirements of softness, hydrophilic property, and anti-yellowing at the same time in treating fibers and fabrics.
