Abstract
Base hydrocarbon, preferably LPG gas, is fortified with methyl ethyl ketone and methyl tertbutyl ether in an amount 0.5% to 13%, preferably 5% to 8%, of the base hydrocarbon by weight for use as torch gas, heating or motor fuel. Cutting of ferrous metal can be accomplished even under water by mixing the fortified torch gas with oxygen having a purity as low as 90%.
