Abstract

There is disclosed a silver halide photographic material which is sensitized with a novel selenium sensitizer. It provides less fog and markedly little sensitivity degradation during storage under a high temperature and humidity conditions, while providing the same level of a sensitivity. The silver halide photographic material contains at least one compound represented by the following Formula (I): ##STR1## Wherein R.sub.1 represents a substituted phenyl or condensed aryl group, an aliphatic group, a heterocyclic group, OR.sub.4, --NR.sub.5 (R.sub.6), SR.sub.7, SeR.sub.8, X.sub.1, or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, OR.sub.9, --NR.sub.10 (R.sub.11), SR.sub.12, SeR.sub.13, X.sub.2, or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, or a hydrogen atom; R.sub.4, R.sub.7, R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.12 and R.sub.13 each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, a hydrogen atom, or a cation; and X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 each represents a halogen atom.
