Abstract
A silver halide photographic material low in fogging generation and high in sensitivity comprising a silver halide emulsion selenium sensitized with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by general formulae (I) and (III): ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, a carboxyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group or a sulfamoyl group, provided that a tetramethylselenourea is excluded; ##STR2## wherein each of R.sub.8, R.sub.9, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, an acyl group, a carboxyl group, a formyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, an aryloxycarbonyl group, a carbamoyl group or a sulfamoyl group, provided that at least one pair of R.sub.8 and R.sub.9, R.sub.9 and R.sub.10, R.sub.10 and R.sub.11, and R.sub.11 and R.sub.8 combine to form a ring.
