Abstract
A thermally-transferred color filter array element comprising a support having thereon a polymeric dye image-receiving layer containing a thermally-transferred image comprising a repeating pattern of colorants of an arylidene blue dye having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having from 1 to about 8 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having from about 5 to about 8 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group having from about 2 to about 8 carbon atoms, or a substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group having from about 7 to about 14 carbon atoms; PA1 R.sup.3 represents hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl or alkoxy group having from 1 to about 8 carbon atoms, halogen, or a fused aryl ring; PA1 or R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may represent the elements which may be taken together to form a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; PA1 X represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or bromine; and PA1 n is 1 to 4.
