Abstract
A method for making a nonwoven filter which comprises impregnating a nonwoven filter substrate with a curable binder composition, the binder composition consisting essentially of PA0 (a) 10 to 100 wt% fully hydrolyzed PVOH which has a DPn of 100 to 2300; and PA0 (b) 0 to 90 wt% aqueous polymer emulsion, on a solids basis. The preferred aqueous polymer emulsion is an ethylene-vinyl chloride (EVCl) copolymer emulsion or a vinyl acetate/-N-methylolacrylamide (VAc/NMA) copolymer emulsion, or both.
