Abstract
A liquid detergent composition contains: PA1 (A) an anionic surfactant having the formula (I): EQU RO(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O).sub.n SO.sub.3 M (I) PA1 wherein R is a C.sub.10 -C.sub.18 alkyl or alkenyl group, PA1 n is 0 to 5, and PA1 M is hydrogen, an alkaline metal cation, an alkaline earth metal cation, an ammonium cation or a substituted ammonium cation; and PA1 (B) an amphoteric ion surfactant having the formula (II): ##STR1## wherein R' is a C.sub.10 -C.sub.16 alkyl or alkenyl group, provided that the weight ratio of component (A) to a total amount of components (A) and (B) is 0.2 to 0.8 and the total amount of components (A) and (B) is 0.05% to 0.3% by weight.
