Abstract

A system which converts sampled component video signals having a first sample rate to a digital composite video signal compatible with the standard and having a sample rate which is incompatible with said first sample rate. The system uses an adder and subtracter to generate the sum and difference of the two color-difference signals. The sum and difference signals along with the luminance signal are then interpolated and combined to generate a digital composite signal compatible with the standard.
