Abstract

An interpenetrating polymer system prepared from a mixture of a moisture-cured prepolymer component and an elastomeric component which is non-reactive with the prepolymer component, wherein exposure of the mixture to ambient moisture cures the prepolymer component entrapping the elastomeric component and forming a product which is essentially thermoset. The product may be essentially non-foamed or highly foamed and and either tack-free or self-adhesive. It is particularly suitable for use as sealing gaskets, sheet stock, tubing, and as sealant-encapsulants.
