Abstract
This invention discloses a novel organosilicon compound, which is soluble in silicone oils and strongly absorbs ultraviolet light, represented by the general formula: An organosilicon compound having a benzophenone skeleton represented by the general formula: ##STR1## where "n" is an integer in the range 0.about.100, R.sup.1 are similar or dissimilar saturated hydrocarbon groups with a number of carbon atoms in the range 1-30 or phenyl group, R.sup.2 is a monofunctional organic group represented by the formula --(CR.sup.3 .sub.2 CR.sup.3 (H) CR.sup.3 .sub.2)-- R.sup.4, R.sup.3 is hydrogen atom or a saturated monofunctional hydrocarbon group with 1-5 carbon atoms, and R.sup.4 is a group represented by the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom or hydroxyl group, R.sup.6 are hydrogen atoms, or similar or dissimilar monofunctional saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon groups with 1-10 carbon atoms, "a" is an integer in the range 0-3, and "b" is an integer in the range 0-4.
