Abstract
An adjustable differential pressure valve that controls the pressure of a input fluid by maintaining a pressure differential between the fluid and another fluid, or fluids, of reference pressure, acts as a bypass valve and allows the pressure differential to be adjusted from the outside of the valve either mechanically or by remote hydraulic pressure. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, opposite ends of extensions of the piston are exposed to the outlet pressure of the valve by a passage communicating directly through the extensions and the piston.
