Abstract
A process for enhancing oral hygiene by reducing oral microflora and for inhibiting the formation of dental plaque by applying, to the oral cavity a composition containing (a)0.1 to 40 parts, by weight, of a higher acyl-N-betaine having the structure ##STR1## where R is a higher alkyl group of from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof, and (b) 0.1 to 40 parts, by weight of a higher alkyl-N,-N-dimethylamine oxide, a higher alkyl-N-N-dihydroxyethylamine oxide, or an acyl-amino t-amine, of the respective structures: ##STR2##
