Abstract

Process for the preparation of .beta.-fluoroalcohols of the formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent straight-chain or branched alkyl and PA1 R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 represent hydrogen or alkyl, in which epoxides of the formula (II) ##STR2## are reacted with sodium hydrogen fluoride or potassium hydrogen fluoride under pressure in the presence of diluents.
