Abstract

A powder mixture for powder metallurgy comprising a starting powder for powder metallurgy containing a metal powder, a powder of physical property improving ingredients and a lubricant and, blended therewith as a binder, a synthetic styrenic rubber copolymer comprising: PA1 5 to 75 parts by weight of styrene and PA1 95 to 25 parts by weight of butadiene and/or isoprene, as the monomer ingredient or a hydrogenation product thereof. The binder can suppress the segregation of the physical property improver and the lubricant, as well as dusting upon handling the powder.
