Abstract
A semifinished product formed from fiber reinforced thermoplastic material, with the semifinished product including a solid covering of fibers and thermoplastic material, which resolidifies, after melting, and a felt or wadding-like core of a fiber-polymer mixture. The core may be formed from a compressed material and the semifinished product may have either a cylindrical or oval shape. The solid covering has a thickness of less than 20% of the radius of the semifinished product, with the thickness preferably being a maximum of 10 millimeters.
