Abstract

The invention describes basic calcium aluminum hydroxy phosphites of the general formula EQU Ca.sub.x Al.sub.2 (OH).sub.2(x+2) HPO.sub.3 .multidot.mH.sub.2 O wherein PA1 x=2-8 and PA1 m=0-12 and a process for their production. The compounds according to the invention are especially suited as stabilizers for halogen-containing polymers, in particular PVC.
