Abstract
Azo dyes useful for dyeing or printing textile fibers or fabrics and for thermal transfer have the formula ##STR1## where R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 -alkyl or substituted or unsubstituted C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl or R.sup.1 may also be hydrogen, PA1 R.sup.3 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, PA1 R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy, amino or mono- or di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)amino, and PA1 D is a radical of the thiophene, thiazole, isothiazole, benzothiophene, thienothiophene or thienothiazole series.
