Abstract
In order to obtain a desired output characteristic in magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus, a proper range of magnetic tape wrap angles on a magnetic head are determined according to the following expressions, taking account of tension: EQU 0.5(.beta..sub.in -.gamma.) .ltoreq. (.beta..sub.out -.gamma.) .ltoreq. 2(.beta..sub.in -.gamma.) EQU and .beta..sub.in + .beta..sub.out .ltoreq. 2.gamma.+4.0.degree. where PA1 .gamma.= -0.2 (deg.multidot.mm/gf) .times. T(gf/mm) + 0.6.degree., PA1 .beta..sub.in is a wrap angle of an approaching magnetic tape and PA1 .beta..sub.out is a wrap angle of a leaving magnetic tape.
