Abstract
A device to rapidly and safely excise tissue samples from a living body including a means to prevent lateral movement of the cutting edge as it engages the tissue and a means to control the depth of excision. The device also features an external sheath which is driven into the tissue with the coring shaft and which provides the operator with continued access to the sampling site after removal of the tissue core.
