Abstract

A sliding-lifting roof of an automobile including a blocking device which prevent sliding movement during tilting movements thereof. The blocking device is not effective during sliding movements. The sliding-lifting roof is guided along guide rails fixed laterally to the roof opening by oppositely located forward and rear guide shoes. The roof is connected to the rear shoes by pivoting-out elements and is connected to the forward shoes in a manner allowing pivoting about a horizontal axis traverse to the direction of sliding. The blocking device includes a control rod attached to the rear guide shoe and slidably guided on the forward guide shoe. A detent element fitted to the forward guide shoe and actuated by the control rod may be engaged with a recess formed in the guide rail to prevent sliding during tilting movements.
