Abstract
A resin composition for powder coatings that comprises a composition (A) and a blocked polyisocyanate compound (B), the composition (A) being based on both a carboxyl group containing polyester resin having a hydroxyl value of 10 to 100 and a softening point of 50.degree. to 150.degree. C. and a glycidyl group containing acrylic resin having a hydroxyl value of 30 to 150 and a softening point of 50.degree. to 150.degree. C., and further containing a copolymer prepared by reaction between said polyester and acrylic resins. This resin composition is capable of providing an ideal paint film that possesses the features of a paint film prepared from polyester resins (high degrees of smoothness, gloss and strength) and those of a paint film prepared from acrylic resins (high levels of hardness, stain resistance and weatherability).
